Act Humane, in collaboration with the District Administration, Ludhiana, continues to advance Project SARTHI, an initiative focused on strengthening school counselling, understanding student psychology, and equipping educators to support students’ emotional and career development.
The District Administration, Ludhiana, held a dedicated session on Project SARTHI attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ms. Shreyansee Jain, IAS, other administrative officials, block representatives, and school counsellors. The session introduced the project’s objectives and highlighted the importance of effective counselling in addressing students’ needs.
As an extension of Project SARTHI’s efforts to combat drug abuse, counsellors from selected hotspot areas were invited for specialised training by Psychiatrist Dr. Priyanka Kalra. The session focused on identifying early warning signs of substance use among students, understanding their behavioural and psychological needs, and providing timely counselling and support before substance use develops into addiction.
Act Humane has previously implemented three Project SARTHI initiatives in Punjab in collaboration with the Punjab Government and district administrations. This latest initiative strengthens the project’s focus on early intervention and drug abuse prevention, reinforcing the role of trained counsellors in creating safer, healthier, and more supportive school environments.
