Bringing Hope and Care to Santokh Singh’s Family
At Act Humane, we believe in transforming lives through compassion and collective action. When we learned about the heart-wrenching story of Santokh Singh and his son through the media, we knew we had to step in.
Santokh Singh, a 72-year-old father, had spent over three decades caring for his 47-year-old son, who suffers from a severe mental disability. With age and financial struggles weighing heavily on him, Santokh Ji found himself unable to provide the care his son desperately needed. The challenges of caring for a disabled family member without adequate support had pushed this family into a corner.
Recognizing their plight, Act Humane took immediate action. Partnering with other NGOs and initiating a crowdfunding campaign, we were able to provide the family with much-needed financial relief. But we didn’t stop there. Understanding the critical importance of specialized care, we arranged for dedicated nursing support to ensure that Santokh Ji’s son receives the attention and medical care he requires.
This initiative not only brought a renewed sense of hope to Santokh Ji but also served as a reminder of the profound impact that empathy and community support can have. It is stories like these that drive Act Humane’s mission to create a more inclusive and supportive society for individuals with disabilities and their families.
