In 2025, Punjab faced one of the most devastating floods in recent memory. Continuous heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers submerged hundreds of villages, leaving thousands of families displaced and vulnerable. The worst-hit districts included Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and several villages in Ajnala District, where homes, farmlands, and livelihoods were destroyed within hours.
At this crucial time, Act Humane NGO stepped forward to support affected families through its donation drives in Punjab, ensuring that essential supplies reached those in urgent need. Volunteers and supporters worked tirelessly to provide relief and restore hope in some of the hardest-hit areas.
Act Humane’s teams focused on the districts most severely affected by floods. In Hoshiarpur, villages near the Sutlej river were submerged; in Pathankot, rising water levels created widespread chaos; Gurdaspur faced mass displacement; while families in Ajnala villages were left stranded without food and clean water. Despite damaged roads and accessibility challenges, relief materials were distributed even in the remotest corners.
The flood relief kits provided by Act Humane were designed to meet urgent survival needs. Each kit contained dry ration, rice, flour, and ready-to-eat food items; drinking water and purification tablets; soaps, sanitary pads, and disinfectants; basic medicines and first aid supplies; along with clothing, bed sheets, and blankets. For families who had gone days without proper food or shelter, these kits became a lifeline.
Behind this effort was not just an NGO but also a strong community of donors, supporters, and volunteers. The success of these Punjab flood relief initiatives was possible because people came together—whether by contributing funds, sending essential supplies, or volunteering on the ground. Act Humane volunteers risked flooded roads and harsh conditions to deliver kits, assist in evacuations, and provide comfort to children and elderly people traumatised by the disaster.
While the immediate relief brought much-needed support, the journey toward recovery is far from over. Many families still face challenges in rebuilding their homes, restoring livelihoods, and ensuring education for their children. Act Humane remains committed to continuing its donation drives in Punjab with long-term rehabilitation efforts, collaborations with partner organisations, and sustainable recovery programs.
The floods have once again reminded us of how unpredictable nature can be, but they have also shown the power of humanity when people unite for a cause. Act Humane invites individuals, corporates, and institutions to extend their support. Every contribution—whether big or small—helps bring dignity and stability back to the lives of flood-affected families.
Together, we can rebuild hope and ensure that those who suffered the most are not left behind.
