With the help of donors like you, UNICEF, along with the Government and partners, is promoting Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. KMC is a way to care for pre-term infants which involves them being carried skin-to-skin, usually on the mother’s chest. Together with Special Newborn Care Units (SNCU’s), KMC significantly improves a premature or low birthweight baby’s chances of survival.
